It’s hardly a mystery that the mystery movie The Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020) is based on the Australian TV series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (2012) which is based on the same-named books by Kerry Greenwood. The show was so successful, it also spawned the spinoff Ms Fishers Modern Murder Mysteries (2019). Of course, Mr. Man prefers the film since he likes to see flesh flashed on the big screen. As you can guess from the title, this cinematic chapter centers around the titular Phryne Fisher (Essie Davis). The silver-tongued detective wields her pearl-handled pistol while trying to solve a case involving priceless emeralds that may be cursed. As such, the globetrotting Aussie goes to British-occupied Palestine to get to the bottom of things during the 1920s. Along the way, she encounters Captain Harry Templeton (Brice Bexter), Cecil Yates (Anthony Sharpe), Hugh Collins (Hugo Johnstone-Burt), Jonathon Lofthouse (Rupert Penry-Jones), Lord (Daniel Lapaine) and Lady (Jacqueline McKenzie) Lofthouse, Professor Linnaeus (John Waters), Prudence Stanley (Miriam Margolyes), Sheikh Kahlil Abbas (Kal Naga), and Detective Inspector Jack Robinson (Nathan Page). Luckily for us, the private dick uses his shirt to save Miss Fisher from quicksand. This means the handsome hunk flexes his muscles while pulling her from the depths of danger. Talk about a heroic hottie! Even though we love ogling Nathan’s naked chest, we can’t help but wish the topless gent also went bottomless. In other words, Mr. Page turns us on. We guess that makes him a real page turner!
