My Brother The Devil (2012)

Movie titles these days don’t get too much more intriguing than that of My Brother the Devil (2012), an intense British drama with all sorts of provocative themes and elements. Written and directed by Sally El Hosaini, it tells the story of a young boy growing up in a strict Egyptian family in London, and that of his older brother who tries to help his sibling by working and making money as a gang member. Things go very sour very quickly, and everything is complicated by the older brother’s sexuality. James Floyd stars as the older brother in the film, and he looks extremely fine throughout, including in one scene in which he stands in his boxers while looking in a mirror, his gun in his hand, and in another in which a different character (played by Said Taghmaoui) attempts to kiss him, only to be rebuffed. We wish that scene had gone a bit further ourselves, but we’ll take what we can get!
