After years of ballet training throughout his childhood, Paul enrolled in the John Curtain College of the Arts, then got a scholarship for the West Australian Ballet Company, and finished up at the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne. He eventually joined the Sydney Dance Company where he performed as well as choreographed and in 1992, a director friend of his offered him the lead role in a little movie he was making called Strictly Ballroom. That friend was Baz Luhrmann and the film ended up being a huge success, thanks in part to Paul’s charisma, his sexy, muscular frame, and ability to light up the dance floor. Paul began juggling movie roles in between choreographing for musical stage productions and starting his own dance company, the Australian Choreographic Ensemble (ACE). He appeared in the critical flop set at a se fantasy island, Exit to Eden (1994), played the title role in the TV miniseries Joseph (1995), and was tapped to lead the erotic prequel, The First 9 1/2 Weeks (1998). Paul’s cute posterior comes out to play as he and Clara Bellar have sex on a table and then again when he’s held at gunpoint while naked. Though he spent most of the 2000s raising a family, Paul would pop up on screen every now an again, including a three year stint on the popular soap Neighbors from 2019 to 2022, but we’ve yet to get another look at that Aussie ass.
