Schlock-house Cannon Films may have been best known for cranking out cheap action movies designed to turn a profit, but every now and again, one of those films turned out to be an actual great movie with no guilty pleasure qualifiers required. One such film is Russian director Andrei Konchalovsky's Runaway Train (1985), which earned Academy Award nominations for its stars Jon Voight and Eric Roberts! Voight and Roberts star, respectively, as Manny and Buck, two convicts in a maximum security prison in the wilds of Alaska, miles from any of the modern conveniences of society. The two pull of a daring escape in the dead of winter, making their way to a train yard where their plan is to stowaway on a train headed out of state. Unfortunately for them, the conductor finds them almost immediately, but suffers a heart attack and dies, leaving the two men on the now titular runaway train. It's now a race against time for not only the vicious prison warden hoping to bring Manny and Buck back to prison alive, but also for the residents of all the towns along the train's path as it is in danger of derailing at any moment and taking a good number of lives along with it! While the film doesn't have any nudity to speak of, it does open with a prison boxing match between shirtless hunks Eric Roberts and a pre-fame Danny Trejo, along with some side buns from Jon Voight when he pops a squat outside of prison! When it comes to getting off to that, you'll be saying, "I Think I Can! I Think I Can!"
