Funny and scary are the two criteria that should be met with any good horror-comedy, and Scout's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (2015) delivers on both fronts. Three high-school scouts, ready to embark on their very last campout make the startling discovery that their town is almost completely empty. No cars on the roads, no cashier at the mini-mart, and no bouncer at the strip club. Soon enough they realize that this is due to an outbreak of zombies in their little village, and what's worse, it doesn't look like the police or the military are on their way to help. It's up to these three scouts to save their rinky-dink town come hell or high water. Played by Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller, and Joey Morgan, these three musketeers will turn you into a zombie, drooling for this man meat. Instead of brains, you'll be crying for buns. The wish is granted when Logan Miller's pants are pulled down by a zombified Cloris Leachman. Her fake teeth have fallen out, but that doesn't stop her from trying to get a gummy chew of Logan's backyard barbecue. Directed by Christopher Lando who rose to prominence directing the sequels to Paranormal Activity (2007), The Scout's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse will thrill and chill, scout's honor.
