Self-destructive love and sexual confusion create some powder keg moments in the romantic drama Second Skin (2000). Under the direction of Gerardo Vera (who co-wrote the screenplay with Ángeles González Sinde), this pic centers around a man in Madrid named Alberto (Jordi Molla). He’s a well-respected aeronautical engineer married to Elena (Ariadna Gil), a lovely and talented artist. But even with a dream wife and a healthy son, Alberto finds his heart beating for Diego (Javier Bardem), a sexy and successful orthopedic surgeon. After stumbling upon some incriminating evidence, Elena accuses her hubby of having a chubby for someone else. This confrontation makes Alberto admit his guilt. The problem is, wifey thinks he banged a chick! When a woman is scorned, she either destroys property or cheats (or both) so Elena goes out and gets a dickin’ from her co-worker Rafa (Javier Albalá). With the scales of marital justice in a proper balance, Elena seeks reconciliation and offers to forgive Alberto. But the dissatisfied spouse can’t quite seem to keep his mind and hands off of Diego. We understand how he feels. In fact, you won’t be able to keep your hands off of yourself when you catch a glance at Mr. Albalá’s bare back, butt and shaft. If that’s not arousing enough, Mr. Mollá and Mr. Bardem reveal their pecs and buns while having gay sex! Also known as Segunda piel, this skinternational flick features dialogue in Spanish. Yet whenever the actors perform in the buff, we stop reading the subtitles!
