Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)

The twenty third feature length film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)! Simu Liu stars as the title character, a valet parking attendant living in San Francisco with his platonic best friend Katy (Awkwafina). He is in hiding from his father Xu Wenwu (Tony Chiu-Wai Leung) runs the powerful Chinese crime organization known as The Ten Rings after refusing to join his family business. However, his father has now summoned Shang and his estranged sister Xialing (Meng'er Zhang) back to their family home because he claims that he has figured out a way to bring their deceased mother back to life. Naturally, his father is delusional and doesn't realize that he's being tricked by an ancient entity who will put a swift end to the world as we know it if it is unleashed on the world. Now it's up to Shang to embrace his identity and put his legacy to the test by challenging his father and his father's sizable army to a battle for the very soul of a nation. It sounds a lot more serious than it actually is, because this is one of the better origin stories in the MCU, with some of the best martial arts action you'll ever see on film! Since this is a Marvel movie and those are devoid of sex, don't go looking for Tony Chiu-Wai Leung to dish out a reprise of his nude work in Lust, Caution (2007). Thankfully star Simu Liu is a real hunky hero, showing off his phenomenal physique sans shirt several times! Too bad this movie wasn't Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Inches! Maybe that can be the sequel!
