Uncharted (2022)

Video game movies are almost always a letdown because how can you take an experience you control for dozens of hours and then boil it down to a passive experience running less than two hours? It's not for lack of trying that Uncharted (2022) falls victim to the same issues that have plagued virtually all video game movies as the film cast one hell of a charming lead in Tom Holland and gave him plenty of chances to show off his fit and fabulous physique! The film serves as a sort of prequel for his character of treasure hunter Nathan Drake, who is just a streetwise kid at the beginning of this movie, taken in by seasoned veteran treasure hunter Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg). Together, the two trot around the globe in search of a fabled lost treasure that belonged to Magellan, all the while being pursued by an unscrupulous treasure hunter (Antonio Banderas). Apart from the eye candy offered up by the three hunky leads, that's about it, there's no buried treasure here unfortunately!
