Review

Loosely based on a number of real life Hollywood stories from the time, Straight-Jacket (2004) centers on 1950s Hollywood heartthrob Guy Stone (Matt Letscher) who romances women on the big screen but has a penchant for romancing men off screen. In a panic over a number of potentially salacious stories that could be exposed about him and his lover Rick (Adam Greer), the studio mandates that he marry studio secretary Sally (Carrie Preston) in an attempt to squash the gossip. At first, Sally seems like she's landed in one of Guy's own movies, finding herself suddenly married to one of the most desired bachelors in Tinseltown, but when she discovers the truth about her marriage, she threatens to blow the whole thing up. While it's unfortunate that a film from 2004 doesn't get any hotter or heavier than some shirtless make out scenes between Matt Letscher and Adam Greer, it was certainly more than we got from most mainstream movies of the time!
