The Test (2013) is set in San Francisco in 1985, and it follows Frankie (Scott Marlowe), and understudy in a modern dance troop where’s he’s taunted more than encouraged. When he’s not working on his dance steps, he following his heart, starting a relationship with Todd (Matthew Risch), a hunky, bad boy dancer that’s been with the dance company for quite some time. Every cloud has a silver lining, so when a veteran dancer goes down with an injury, Frankie gets his chance to show off his moves. It’s not all show lights, dancing, and newly minted love—there’s homophobia, hatred, ignorance and AIDS. While the film is full of spectacular dance routines, it’s surprising short on skin. Scott Marlowe allows us a look at his hind in a couple of scenes, one in a locker room, and the other while making out with Matthew Risch. These are two dudes Mr. Man would love to put to the test!
