The Deep Ones (2021)

The Deep Ones is a B-movie horror flick based on the iconic work of author H.P. Lovecraft. His book The Shadow over Innsmouth gets the 2020s treatment here, with a couple staying at an Airbnb located in a mysterious beachside town. The locals are creepy in their friendliness, and the couple soon finds that this is a town where outsiders check in, but don't check out. Zoinks! You see, the source material, The Shadow over Innsmouth, is about ancient fish people known as The Deep Ones. The now-deserted town where the couple is Airbnb-ing used to be a prosperous fishing village. But the way the town became prosperous was not as simple as casting a net. The town performed sacrifices for the ancient fish people (The Deep Ones) in exchange for massive fish hauls. But when the town stopped, the ancient fish people got revenge by decimating the human population there. So this is the tangled web that our couple stumbles upon. The ancient fish people (how many times are we going to say "ancient fish people?" Only time will tell!) can look like people until they get older, so you never know who to trust. But enough about ancient fish people. Star Johann Urb is a super hottie, and we get to see his nice ass as he has sex with a chick in bed! The whole thing is recorded on a nanny cam hidden inside of a teddy bear. We're gonna need a copy of that, thanks. Forget The Deep Ones, we want to be The Balls Deep Ones! Ancient fish people.
