You don’t have to see a teen movie to know high school sucks. Although the point is definitely made in Blackboard Jungle (1955), To Sir, with Love (1967), Carrie (1976), Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), Sixteen Candles (1984), The Breakfast Club (1985), Dazed and Confused (1993), The Virgin Suicides (1999), O (2001), Mean Girls (2004), Napoleon Dynamite (2004), Bad Teacher (2011), Bully (2011), and The Edge of Seventeen (2016). Of course, we can’t forget The Faculty (1998). Not to be confused with the short-lived sitcom The Faculty (1996), this R rated flick features an all-star cast including Bebe Neuwirth, Clea DuVall, Elijah Wood, Famke Janssen, Jon Stewart, Jordana Brewster, Josh Hartnett, Piper Laurie, and Salma Hayek. Under the direction ALMA Award nominee Robert Rodriguez (who also serves as the film’s editor), this box office hit uses science fiction to emphasize the horrors of high school. Indeed, a lot of strange things are happening at Harrington High. As a result, some people are starting to suspect the teachers may not be who they claim to be. Are they really aliens from outer space? Or are the students so jacked up on substances, they’re hallucinating? It’s hard to know. Speaking of hard, we appreciate the arousing view of Shawn Hatosy’s wet pecs. As Stan Rosado, the skintastic actor fogs up the lens during a steamy shower scene that has Mr. Man reaching for a towel. Suffice it to say, Mr. Hatosy’s great student body is likely to raise more than your school spirit!
