After making Se7en (1995) and Fight Club (1999), director David Fincher whipped out his gritty … flick The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), a remake of the Swedish pic The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) starring Michael Nyqvist and Noomi Rapace. Based on Stieg Larsson’s same-named novel, the R-rated thriller was billed as the “feel bad movie of Christmas” when it was initially released. Set in Stockholm, the English-speaking mystery follows the tension between journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) and businessman Hans-Erik Wennerström (Christopher Plummer) with Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) in between. She’s an inked hacker genius who helps Blomkvist solve a decades-old missing persons case that leads the duo down a gruesome rabbit hole of murder, mayhem, corporate espionage, and sex! When Lisbeth and Mikael finally hook up for a night of sideways tango, we get to glance at Daniel’s muscular back. If that’s not hot enough, the hottie bares his black briefs and ass crack! No wonder, the box office hit won Best Thriller at the Saturn Awards and was nominated for Best Picture at the Producers Guild of America Awards. In fact, Dan beat out A-listers George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Viggo Mortensen and Brad Pitt for the revealing role. In other words, he’ll make you beat yourself off! Yes, the girl may have a dragon tattoo but you’ll have a dragon in your pants. Claire Foy replaced Mara in the sequel The Girl in the Spider’s Web (2018), but no one can really replace manly Mr. Craig!
