Who exactly is The Last Enemy (2008)? That’s what Stephen Ezard (Benedict Cumberbatch) must figure out in this BBC mini-series. Well, first he has to figure out who the enemy is in general since there are a lot of options in this conspiracy thriller. Stephen Ezard (Benedict Cumberbatch) is a math genius who has been hiding out in China crunching numbers all day. Why'd he leave England? All of Europe is under the extremely invasive control of a privacy killing computer program called "Total Information Awareness" and Stephen likes his privacy. Somehow, China is better for him. Stephen returns to the U.K. when his brother Michael (Max Beesley) dies after driving over an IED in the Middle East. At least, that's the official story. Michael was an Aid worker, despite Stephen not remembering him as all that charitable. In his absence, Stephen hops straight into bed with his bro's widow Yasir (Anamaria Marinca) only to find out she's hiding an illegal immigrant with a nasty, unknown virus, and disappears on him after the boning session. No problem, Stephen will just use the "TIA" to track down Yasir. But as he's cyber-stalking his widow, Stephen uncovers an insane conspiracy that calls into question what the mysterious virus is, what happened to his brother, and what's the real purpose behind the creation of the TIA. We've surveilled the whole show and are sad to report that Cumberbatch doesn’t deliver a batch of bare booty, but he does break out of his boxers early in the first episode. As he’s getting out of bed and pulling up his undies, we get to make friends with his tight back seat and his suprisingly shredded abdominals. No enemies there, just an ally all eyes will be on watching The Last Enemy!
