Sergeant Will Montgomery (Ben Foster) has been injured while serving overseas. Back home, the Army assigns him to the difficult Casualty Notification Team. Messenger, The (2009) deals with his adjustment to the unit. He is partnered with a career soldier (Woody Harrelson) who teaches him the demanding protocol. An ethical dilemma occurs when Will becomes involved with a soldier’s widow. That’s probably against the rules.
Both Foster and Harrelson are in skintastic shape as the buttoned up soldiers. Harrelson gives notification that his pants platoon is up to snuff during a post sex scene where the camera lingers on his muscular back and bouncy buns. Foster gives us plenty of views of his muscular chest, arms and back in a variety of scenes.
