Oliver (Oliver Hunt) is the titular character in the Starz mini-series The Missing. Dutiful parents Tony and Emily Hughes (James Nesbitt and Frances O’Connor) go through a nightmare when their five-year-old son disappears during a family holiday in France. The family was watching a World Cup match, the parents look away for a second, and now Oliver is nowhere to be seen. While the grieving couple is hopeful that Oliver will be found, eventually eight years pass without many leads or breaks in the investigation, something Tony can just sit idly by and accept. The distraught dad, convinced that he’s found a key piece of evidence, teams up with the now-retired detective Julien Baptiste (Tchéky Karyo), the dude that headed up the investigation nearly a decade ago, to flesh out any leads. With his marriage on the rocks and all hope nearly gone, Tony has nothing to lose. This whodunit brings the suspense and some plot twists, but it’s short on skin. Nesbitt manages to show off his boxer short-clad body on episode six of the series. Wish his underwear would’ve gone missing.
