The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)

Are you sick of the thriller trend wherein women with drinking problems think that they witness a crime only to be doubted by everyone around them, including themselves? We've got two pieces of advice: First, stop watching films like The Girl on the Train (2016), The Woman in the Window (2019), and The House at the End of the Street (2012), and start watching the Netflix parody of these flicks, The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window! Kristen Bell stars as Anna, a reclusive woman with a serious drinking problem who lives in a very bland and nondescript suburban neighborhood where nothing interesting ever happens. Or at least, nothing interesting ever happened before a handsome widower named Neil (Tom Riley) moves into the house across the street. Anna and Neil engage in some flirtation on their first meeting, but it's tamped down when Anna meets Lisa (Shelley Hennig), Neil's flight attendant girlfriend. All of that changes, however, when Anna sees what she believes to be Neil murdering Lisa, sending her into a paranoid spiral that sees her turning to her ex-husband Douglas (Michael Ealy), a forensic pathologist and serial killer profiler working for the FBI. All manner of absurdity ensues. While both male leads, Michael Ealy and Tom Riley, go shirtless in the series, neither of them take off their pants. Thankfully Benjamin Levy Aguilar turns up in the second episode and bares his ass during a hilarious sex montage with Bell, as well as while wearing nothing but an apron when he cooks her breakfast the next morning!
