The undisputed king and queen of country music, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, get the prestige miniseries treatment with Showtime's 2022 six episode limited series George and Tammy! Played, respectively, by Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain, the series charts the ups and downs of their six year marriage and the love and respect that followed them both into their twilight years. The couple first meets in 1968 when they're both married to other people, and one year later, they're married. Six tumultuous years after that, they were kaput. The show charts what turned into a thirty year love affair that burned bright, survived several windstorms, and never really stopped burning until Tammy's death in 1998. Sadly this turned out to be a formal affair since Michael Shannon never fully ditches his clothes, showing off his shirtless physique and a nice bulge in his tighty whities!
