Vampire Academy (2022)

Based on the Richelle Mead novels of the same name (as well as the 2014 film), this fantasy series steeped in Balkan-Romanian folklore centers on the bond between two young students at St. Vladimir’s Academy: Rose Hathaway (Siri Stringer), a half vampire-half human guardian in training, and Lissa Dragomir, (Daniela Nieves) a vampire princess who is under her protection. The two face bullies, magical illness, and forbidden romance as they wind through their days at boarding school, and we’re not sure how they do it, what with Jason Diaz flashing his bare butt while banging someone in a coat closet and Kieron Moore channeling Patrick Swayze while doing Tai Chi on a roof. If we were attending St Vlad’s, we’d be so distracted by all the hotties that we’d probably flunk out!
