Wild Target (2010)

It goes without saying that Mr. Man is wild about wild movies like Wildcats (1986), Wild Bill (1995), Wild Things (1998), Wild Orchid (1989), Wild at Heart (1990), Wild Wild West (1999), Into the Wild (2007), Wild Child (2008), Wild Hogs (2007), Wild Tales (2014), Wild Card (2015), Wild (2016), Wild Awakening (2016), Wildlife (2018), Wild Bill (2019), The Call of the Wild (2020) and Wildflower (2023). Of course, we’d be remiss not to include Wild Target (2010) on this list. Based on the 1993 French film of the same name, this British caper stars Bill Nighy as Victor Maynard. He’s a middle-aged hitman who is hired by a London gangster (Rupert Everett) to off a con-artist named Rose (Emily Blunt) who stole £900,000. But Victor winds up helping her escape with the help of a slacker called Tony (Rupert Grint). Tony winds up becoming Victor’s apprentice and Victor winds up falling in love with the becoming Rose. It’s a happy ending! Speaking of, you may enjoy the scene wherein Mr. Gint flashes his flesh in the tub. Rub a dub dub! Alas, we don’t get to see his ass. All the redhead shows is his pale chest. Perhaps that’s why this pic was a critical miss as well as a box office flop. Had the movie exposed more than the cast members’ acting chops, it could have earned some interest in skinternational spank banks. After all, what’s the point in making a tongue-in-cheek comedy when there are no cheeks to tongue?
