I'm Not Here (2019)

I'm Not Here (2017) is a Michelle Schumacher directed project about a man who is haunted by memories of his past, which give viewers a pretty decent sense of where things went wrong. Giving an entirely mute performance, J.K. Simmons plays the man who is named Steve in modern times, while Sebastian Stan plays a younger version of him. Simmons' old man Steve is bitter and lonely, as exemplified by his voicemail message that says only "I'm not here," his complete lack of caring about turning sixty, and the tattered bathrobe he wears every day. His only voicemails are that one of his ex-wife is dead, and that he hasn't paid the electric bill in so long they're about to shut off his power. But his life wasn't always so sad, even if it wasn't all that great for huge swaths, either. Back when he was a young man who'd dealt with his parents getting a messy divorce and his drunk dad killing himself, Steve fell in love with Karen (Maika Monroe) as the pair bonded over bad parents. The problem is, Steve likes to drink just like his father, and when his sobriety inevitably fails so will his marriage. And that's not even getting into what happened to his son Trevor (Jeremy Maguire). Okay, so this one's not exactly a feel-good flick, but we always feel good getting to see J. Jonah Jameson and The Winter Soldier showing some skin! We really only get to see Sebastian shirtless as he lies in bed, but we definitely stan him in a straight sex scene that shows those abs in action! However, J.K. Simmons gives us a little more when he gets out of bed nude to show his booty. Oh yes, drink it all in! We are definitely here for that ass!
