Review

Based on the E.M. Forster novel, A Room with a View (2007) was directed by Academy Award winning screenwriter of Call Me By Your Name (2017), James Ivory. Like the book, the film tells the story of Charlotte Bartlett (Maggie Smith) and her cousin Lucy Honeychurch (Helena Bonham Carter). They're British tourists in 1907 Florence, Italy, who are incredibly disappointed their hotel room doesn't have the view of the River Arno they were promised it would. When Mr. Emerson (Denholm Elliott) and his shy but handsome son George (Julian Sands) hear about their conundrum, they switch rooms. Later, George saves Lucy's life and the two fall in love. But since Charlotte promised her mom she'd keep Lucy from jumping into bed during the vacation, Lucy leaves George, goes home and gets engaged to a jerk named Cecil (Daniel Day-Lewis). But when Mr. Emerson move nearby and George comes to visit, that plan goes out the window. It's a love triangle with the rich dude facing off against the one Lucy actually loves. Who will win? Seems like a can't lose situation to Mr. Man considering how sexy both of Lucy's options are. While most of this movie is pretty buttoned up, it does offer one glorious moment of unabashed male nudity. The three male leads, Julian Sands, Rupert Graves and Simon Callow all go for a swim. They strip naked and have a little skinny-dipping fun and we get to sit back and enjoy the view as all three guys run around naked, laughing and splashing in the water. There's so much sexual tension. Jeez guys, get a room! We get full back and frontal views of all three guys. It is a dick swinging, cheek baring good time as these three studs get you plenty moist in all the right places while they get wet and wild during their swim. Book us A Room with a View of that!
