The Bounty (1984)

Mel Gibson is a tan, shirtless British sailor in The Bounty (1984), a tale about a colonial crew that heads to Tahiti under the supervision of Lietenant Bligh, played by Anthony Hopkins. Once dear friends, the two quickly become enemies when Fletcher Christian (Gibson) falls in love with a Tahitian lady, making out with her in the jungle and having steamy, tropical sex. 

Lietuenant Bligh is a cruel dude and soon earns the disdain of the entire crew—who abandons him and burns down the ship. (Spolier alert.) This colonical/tropical mashup stars some of the sexiest men around, like Liam Neeson and Mel Gibson, who both seem to have lost their shirts at some point during the movie.
