There have been a lot of mutinies over the history of sailing and seacraft, but only one has become a cultural icon thanks to the constant stream of movies and TV shows about it. Yes, of course we're talking about the famed HMS Bounty and its British crew of beefcakes. But with all due respect to Clark Gable and Marlon Brando, Mr. Man has always appreciated Mel Gibson's take on thetan, often shirtless British sailor Fletcher Christian in The Bounty (1984). As you likely know, the story takes place in 1787 with The HMS Boundy heading from England to Jamaica to grab some Breadfruit. Led by the tyrannical Captain Bligh (Anthony Hopkins), they have to make a pit stop in Tahiti, only to get stuck there for a while longer than expected waiting for the winds to shift. The problem is that the lonely sailors end up loving the tropical paradise and its horny native women, especially Master's Mate Fletcher Christian (Mel Gibson). Preferring the bed-fruit of Tahitian titty to the whole Breadfruit mission, a few try to bail on the gig and Bligh beats them, which combined with his newfound obsession with unquestioned loyalty makes him very unpopular. Of course, Christian will lead a mutiny only for Bligh to prove a tough bastard who can survive on a lifeboat, and Christian to realize that keeping a crew happy knowing the Royal Navy is going to come for their heads at some point is much harder than he ever thought. This colonial/tropical mashup stars some of the sexiest men around, including Liam Neeson, Daniel Day-Lewis, and the always regal Sir Laurence Olivier. None of those fellas had the heart to show the booty, but we do see Mel Gibson running around the Tahitian jungles without a shirt on, as well as Liam Neeson getting stripped and whipped for not following orders. Don't call us Captain Obvious, but those firm chests and lean torsos are tremendous! Mr. Man would've paid The Bounty for these fellas to go full frontal!
