A Thousand and One (2023)

Set in mid-90s New York City, the acclaimed independent film A Thousand and One (2023) tells the story of Inez (Teyana Taylor), a woman recently out of prison who kidnaps her six year old son Terry (Aaron Kingsley-Adetola) from the foster care system. Surviving by staying on the margins, mother and son grow together in a rapidly gentrifying city until Terry is a teenager, whose teachers recognize him as an exceptionally gifted young man. With a promising future ahead of him, he must now face the truth of his past and the crimes his mother committed to get him to this point in his life. One of the men mom hooks up with is Lucky, played by William Catlett, who bares his buns while getting out of bed after sex! Lucky us!
