American Bad Boy (2015)

Let’s hear it for the USA! Without this great country, we wouldn’t have American Gigolo (1980) with Richard Gere; American History X (1998) with Edward Norton; American Pie (1999) with Jason Biggs; American Psycho (2000) with Christian Bale; and American Honey (2016) with Shia LaBeouf. Of course, we can’t forget American Bad Boy (2015). Not to be confused with Michael Bay’s Bad Boys (1995), this R rated flick marks the feature directorial debut of Jamaican actor Obba Babatundé. The romantic drama tells the story of aspiring hip-hop star Samuel (Antoine Cleveland). He once borrowed an exorbitant amount of money from The Bruce (Katt Williams) to realize his goal of becoming a recording artist. But when this dream doesn’t materialize, the debts begin to pile up. Now, Samuel has six months to come up with the cash. To work the debt off, the bodacious borrower decides to become a male stripper at one of The Bruce’s clubs. Yet he must keep it a secret from everyone, especially his preacher father (Babbatundé). While there’s a ton of male dancing in this flick, there’s not a lot of stripping. Nevertheless, we get some nice shots of a shirtless Antoine rocking a pair of panties on stage. The same can be said for topless hotties Black Package (Valinta Grace), Reggie (Stevie Mack), Rooster (Josiah Black), and Whip (Damien Smith). In other words, these chiseled gents will tempt and tease the members on audience members with their gym-built physiques! Can we get some single dollar bills, please?
