Shangri-La Suite (2016)

Shangri-La Suite (2016) is a dark romance/crime drama set during the summer of 1974, when two young, twisted lovers decided they were going to kill the King of Rock and Roll himself, Elvis Presley. Karen (Emily Browning) and Jack (Luke Grimes) meet in a psychiatric hospital, where Jack tells Karen all about his obsession with Elvis. When a doctor gets handsy with Karen, Jack kills him and the pair escape. Taking off for Los Angeles, Jack starts hearing stories about Elvis that have him pissed off at his hero, so the pair decide they'll make it their goal to kill Elvis Presley (Ron Livingston). Along the way, Karen will get knocked up and meet Priscilla (Ashley Greene) at a California beach as she fulfills her dream of swimming in the Pacific Ocean. With a baby on the way and having been thoroughly impressed with Elvis' wife, Karen starts to doubt the mission. Will Jack kill the king? No, obviously not. This isn't a Quentin Tarantino movie where the past gets rewritten. Instead, he'll inspire Elvis' comeback in a wild turn of events. But do Elvis' clothes leave the building?
