The HBO miniseries Angels in America (2003) was an adaptation of Tony Kushner's iconic 1991 play that won both a Tony and a Pulitzer, which HBO put in the hands of legendary director Mike Nichols. Needless to say, with all that starpower and a budget of 62 million bucks, it ended up a smash hit that swept award season. In the miniseries, it's 1985 and Joe Pitt (Patrick Wilson) and Ray Cohn (Al Pacino) are both gay men still in the closet. A Conservative Mormon, Joe's considering taking a job in Reagan's DOJ, while Cohn is a right-wing psycho who works as a fixer for mob bosses and other bad dudes. Roy gets AIDS and ends up haunted by the Soviet Spy he played a huge role in getting executed, Ethel Rosenberg (Meryl Streep), while Pitt is struggling to decide if he should stick with his pill addict wife (Mary-Louise Parker) or embrace his life as a lover of men. There's also man named Prior (Justin Kirk) who is dying from the disease, while his lover Louis (Ben Shenkman) runs away from him because he can't bear to see what's happening. He doesn't need her though, since he's often visited by a lovely angel (Emma Thompson) trying to help him accept his fate. This miniseries lives up to the HBO standard and puts plenty of peen on our plates! Justin Kirk has a medical examination, and we get a firsthand look at his specimen. Mr. Man would love to have that thing in his hand even if Justin's hospital trip isn't a fun one. Still, we had a nice jerk to Justin Kirk! Patrick Wilson also strips down on a beach while freaking out about the possibility that he's caught the virus. We get a great butt look, as well as a shot of his laphog swinging between his legs! Forget about a possible infection, let's talk about our rock-hard erection! Throw in a scene where he makes out with Ben Shenkman, and you'll see why these guys are our hard-ian angels! Dudes stripping down and baring dick? Angels in America is our version of heaven!
