Terry Zwigoff reunites with Daniel Clowes, his screenwriting partner on Ghost World (2001), for a hilariously acerbic look at the pretentious world of art school. Adapted from a well regarded comic, Art School Confidential (2006) takes place at the fictional Strathmore School of Art, where we meet freshman painter Jerome Platz (Max Minghella), his gay fashion loving roommate Matthew (Nick Swardson) and his documentarian buddy Vince (Ethan Suplee). Things aren’t going so well for Jerome at Strathmore for a few reasons. He’s finding out that the art world is way more political than he thought, and that being the best artist doesn’t always make you the most successful one. Plus, there’s a serial killer roaming the campus. If that’s not upsetting enough, Jerome can’t get laid. When he falls for the nude model Audrey (Sophia Myles), he has to compete against the most mysterious student at Strathmore, Jonah (Matt Keeslar), for her affection. Will he win her over? And, more importantly, will the movie show some dudity? Fortunately, the answer to the latter question is YES! Just 10 minutes into the flick, we get to watch a male model called Leslie (Ezra Buzzington) reveal every inch of his bare body when he poses naked for the budding artists taking a figure drawing class. The skintastic act showcases the blonde beefcake’s abs, shaved sack, shaft, and masterpiece of ass! No doubt, the students are getting quite an education. In fact, this peen scene gives new meaning to the term “head of the class!”
