Based off the stage play of the same name, the drama Burning Blue (2013) is set on a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier and follows Daniel Lynch (Trent Ford) and Matthew Blackwood (Rob Mayes), two young recruits competing for a highly-coveted spot at the Navy’s Test Pilot School. But when two fatal accidents occur aboard the ship, a government agency joins the crew in attempt to discover the root of the disasters. But the investigation of the crashes suddenly switches when a senior fighter pilot is seen in a gay nightclub. Oh, the horror! It’s not long before the gay bar goer, his three squadron buddies, and their families are put under a microscope, putting their careers in jeopardy, and leaving their lives in shambles.
