Before Minnesota-born Chris Pratt started his career as an A-list actor, he was barely making a living as a salesman, a stripper, and a waiter. Luckily, Rae Dawn Chongsaw him waiting tables at a popular chain restaurant, and cast him in her short film, Cursed Part 3 (2000). While Mr. Man didn’t see it (and we’re guessing you probably didn’t either), it was enough to spark a match, and Chris’s career starting lighting up with jobs as Bright Abbott on Everwood from 2002-2006, Ché on The O.C. from 2006-2007, and the role of loveable, chunky Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation from 2009-2015. He also started appearing on the big screen, grabbing our attention when he teased a look at his tail in the hit action flick Wanted (2008) with Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy. He popped up in roles in Bride Wars (2009) with Anne Hathaway, and Moneyball (2011) with Brad Pitt. In 2012, our worlds were rocked when he nabbed the career-turning role of Justin in Zero Dark Thirty (2012), shedding the baby fat and getting ripped, shredded, and hotter than Hades. Suddenly, he was being considered for better roles, including a turn as Paul in Spike Jonez’s Her (2013). And in 2014, he landed the role of Marvel’s reluctant hero, Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, in Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s here where you can fully appreciate the effort Chris puts into his physique, wearing only boxer briefs as he’s soaked with an unknown, unwanted substance. From there, it was a short leap to playing Owen in Jurassic World (2015), and between the two roles, along with voicing Emmet Brickowski in the Lego movie universe, his job docket was suddenly filled. Luckily for us, he still had time to bare his backside as Jim Preston in the space odyssey Passengers (2016). Special shout-out to Rae Dawn Chong!
