Deadland (2023)

Deadland is part of a new generation of border noir films, which take place at the US/Mexico border amid the area's heightened tensions. Here a border officer named Angel Waters (Roberto Urbina) is stationed in the middle of nowhere, where he expects to more or less stay out of the drama. However when two mysterious men cross the border, they bring supernatural elements into Angel's life that will change his way of thinking forever. One of Angel's coworkers is Ray Hitchcock (McCaul Lombardi) and he delivers the only sexy action in Deadland. This flick was a hit at SXSW in 2023, and we certainly see why. Lombardi gives us a couple of opportunities to enjoy his ripped physique in his shirtless scenes. The land might be dead, but we are living!
