Don Jon (2013) is what we commonly call an ego-trip movie, written, directed and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He’s most famous as one of the aliens in the popular sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun, but this is his ticket to mind-blower. He plays a guy from New Jersey who is dedicated to his family and friends, but also to his love of pornography, which he watches unabashedly, and which gives him unrealistic expectations. How will that mesh with the character of Scarlett Johansson, who plays his potential soul mate?
