Dying (2024)

A three hour German movie called Dying (2024) may not sound like the most exciting proposition in the world, but stick with us. Winner of Best Picture at the 2024 German Film Awards, the film centers around middle aged sister Ellen (Lilith Stangenberg) and brother Tom (Lars Eidinger) as they come to terms with the fact that their parents are going to die soon. Or rather, how they don't come to terms with that fact in any way, shape, or form, preferring to stay in denial rather than progressing on to anger, bargaining, depression, or acceptance, which isn't helpful for anyone. Ellen drowns her sorrows in men, bedding Ronald Zehrfeld at one point, who shows off his bare ass when he goes naked into the kitchen for a post-poke snack!
