When it comes to female filmmakers, American Oscar winners Kathryn Bigelow (directing) and Sofia Coppola (writing) come to mind, as well as Australia’s Jane Campion, Italy’s Lina Wertmüller, Belgium’s Agnès Varda, and France’s Julie Lopes-Curval. The latter lady lent her writing and directing talents to High Society (2014), not to be confused with the same-named German comedy from 2017 or the American musical starring Frank Sinatra in 1956. Also known as Le beau monde, this acclaimed French film was recognized at the 20th Lumières Awards. The romantic dramedy centers around Alice (Ana Girardot) who lives in a small town in Normandy. While dating a lackluster boyfriend (Baptiste Lecaplain), the 20-year-old works in a bakeshop despite the fact that her passion is fashion. Yet when she serves a patron named Agnès Barthes (Aurélia Petit) everything changes. That’s because Agnès wants to enroll Alice into a prestigious art school in Paris. Needless to say, the ambitious ingénue takes the opportunity. Fortunately, we take the opportunity to ogle Bastien Bouillon’s bare body. As Antoine Barthe, the gorgeous guy sizzles on camera when he struts his stuff on the beach in nothing but bathing trunks. If that’s not hot enough, the young stud reveals his chest again; this time during a sex scene! The amorous act showcases Bastien’s beautiful rump during the hump. In other words, he puts the motion into this motion picture! Although Monsieur Bouillon doesn’t utter a word in English, his physique speaks volumes since he communicates via the skinternational language of lust!
