House of Ga'a (2024)

The Netflix original film House of Ga'a (2024) is set during the glory days of Africa's Oyo Empire, located in present-day southern Benin and western Nigeria. Bashorun Ga'a (Femi Branch) is a celebrated war hero who returns victorious in battle and is appointed Prime Minister by the king. However, Ga'a has a Macbeth-like ambition to overthrow the royal family and create a new and better ruling class overseen by his own family. Unfortunately, he's also got a King Lear-esque family that's crumbling around him due to infighting and incompetence. As he forms alliances with other countries, he unknowingly paves the way for his own downfall. 

Anyone looking for historical Shakespearean intrigue set in Western Africa could do a lot worse than House of Ga'a, but anyone coming for bare hunks is going to be disappointed. Femi Branch does go shirtless for a (very brief) sex scene, while muscular behemoth Atobiloye Kelvin shows off his absolutely insane physique in a pair of shirtless scenes! We wouldn't mind Ga'agging on whatever he might be packing!
