In The Heights (2021)

In the Heights (2021) is the beautiful, colorful, and sizzling hot musical to get you through any summer. This hit musical was originally written and developed for the stage by Lin-Manuel Miranda of Hamilton fame. This music tells the story of a New York bodega owner named Usnavi who lives in Washington Heights, an area in northern Manhattan that has a rich and vibrant Carribbean-Latinx population. Dominicans, Cubans, Puerto Ricans, and many more make up the population of this place all the way up on 181st Street. That's pretty far up there for New York standards, but it is worth visiting in this gorgeous musical. He tries to save all of his money in the hopes that someday he might be able to move out of the heights, but in the end, he learns to love and celebrate this beautiful barrio that he comes from. Dancing, great music, and beautiful cinematography make this original musical worth watching. You can easily see when you watch why it got so many awards and so much hype, but the film adaptation of the musical also features really hot shirtless men that you can't get on the Broadway version. That's where we come in! Anthony Ramos plays Usnavi de la Vega who goes shirtless and in his bathing suit trunks alongside Corey Hawkins who plays Benny. Both of these brown-skinned boys are shirtless to show off their lean muscles! These two sexy musical mavens are definitely giving us something to sing and dance about - their abs!
