Richard Pryor brings his own origin story to the screen as the co-writer, director, and star of Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life is Calling (1986). Pryor stars as the title character, a comedian taking stock of his life after ending up in a coma from lighting himself of fire while freebasing cocaine. While in the coma, he revisits formative events from his life, including everything from being raised inside a brothel to becoming a superstar comedian, then a drug addict, and now he has to decide if he wants to go on living at all! Pryor really gave his all for this flick, baring his ass just seven minutes in, and later dressing up in pasties and undies to do a burlesque routine!
