Mozart in the Jungle (2014-2016)

Inspired by oboist Blair Tindall’s 2005 tell-all memoir detailing the sex, drugs, and brattiness she witnessed during her time performing in various high-profile concerts, the Amazon original series Mozart in the Jungle stars Gael Garcia Bernal as Rodrigo, a sexy young conductor hired to reenergize a Manhattan-based orchestra, much to the ire of Thomas (Malcolm McDowell), the longtime conductor. As the impulsive and charming Rodrigo takes control, we’re introduced to a cast of interesting characters, including Cynthia (Saffron Burrows), a veteran cellist stuck in a dead-end affair with the recently ousted conductor; Hailey (Lola Kirke), an endearing oboist waiting for big break; and Gloria (Bernadette Peters), the chairwoman that tries to keep the music going. In regards to the nudity, the show hits a real sour note by not given us much skin. Season one, episode eight starts on a high note when John Hodgman bares his fleshy upper body while seductively lounging in his crush’s bed. Too bad he didn’t show his skin flute!
