For his 12th feature film, No Other Choice (2025), master filmmaker Park Chan-wook (Oldboy, Decision to Leave) puts a Korean spin on the novel The Ax by Donald E. Westlake! Director Park reteams with his Joint Security Area leading man Lee Byung-hun, a veteran papermaker who loses his job but becomes desperate to maintain his family's lifestyle, which hovers just above the working class, but well below the middle class. Determined to make sure that any future jobs in the papermaking industry come to him, he susses out the other most qualified men in the business and decides to eliminate them, thus eliminating any potential competition should a job hypothetically come up.
