Not Another Teen Movie (2001)

What do you get when you poke fun at the 1999 films American Beauty, American Pie, Cruel Intentions, Election, Jawbreaker, Never Been Kissed, She’s All That, Varsity Blues and 10 Things I Hate About You? The high school parody Not Another Teen Movie (2001). This hilarious sendup also sticks it to classic flicks such as The Breakfast Club (1985), Dazed and Confused (1993), Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986), Grease (1978), Porky’s (1981), Pretty in Pink (1986), Risky Business (1983), and Sixteen Candles (1984). In fact, the action takes place at John Hughes High School, where stereotypical characters abound. Meet “The Perfect Girl” (Lacey Chabert), “The Nasty Cheerleader” (Jaime Pressly), “The Cocky Blond Guy” (a shirtless Eric Christian Olsen), “The Pretty Ugly Girl” (Chyler Leigh), “The Desperate Virgin” (Cody McMains), “The Foreign Exchange Student” (Cerina Vincent), “The New Girl in School” (Joanna Garcia), “The Wannabe” (Samm Levine), and “The Token Black Guy” (Deon Richmond). In addition to “The Win-At-All-Cost Coach” (Ed Lauter) and “The Deadbeat Alcoholic Father” (Randy Quaid), this movie includes cameos by Melissa Joan Hart, Molly Ringwald, Paul Gleason, and Sean Patrick Thomas. Instead of pulling your leg, you’ll be pulling another part of your anatomy while watching the DVD special features which offer a shot of “The Stupid Fat Guy” (Ron Lester) mooning the camera. Of course, Mr. Man’s favorite is “The Popular Jock” (Chris Evans) since he displays his delicious T&A while covered in whipped cream. If he’s supposed to be a Sundae, we’d love to sample his banana!
