That William Shakespeare certainly knew how to spin a yarn, so to speak.  Sometimes though, a film adaptation of the classic wordsmith's more famous stories seemingly leaves some of the more important characters on the cutting room floor.  For Hamlet (George MacKay) said "I loved Ophelia.  Forty thousand brothers could not, with all their quantities of love, make up my sum.", it would only make sense that we get to see the story of the Prince of Denmark from her perspective a bit instead of his, right???  That is exactly what this film does, it gives us a behind the curtain look at Ophelia (Daisy Ridley), the love of Hamlet's life, who ends up as one of the trusted ladies-in-waiting for Queen Gertrude despite being a rebellious and motherless orphan.  As Ophelia begins to win over the Queen, she also begins to catch the eye of the young prince, Hamlet, and as their love begins to grow in secret so do the conflicts surrounding them.  "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark" as internal and external struggles begin to ramp up and once the king is murdered, Hamlet begins to lose his mind.  He becomes an agent of vengeance and the young and wise Ophelia must navigate the dangers of the times so that she doesn't end up getting killed along with pretty much everyone else in this classic retelling.  Although there isn't ANY nudity for the gentleman of Denmark in this one, we do get to see the rising star George MacKay sans shirt in a tame sex scene with Daisy Ridley.
