Shakespeare plus hot dudes in military uniforms equals sexy in the homoerotic drama Private Romeo (2011). This isn’t the version of Romeo and Juliet that you learned in school. Set in an all-boys military academy, our Romeo, Sam Singleton (Seth Numrich) and our Juliet, Glenn Mangan (Matt Doyle) are two cadets that are in some sort of limbo as they are awaiting transfer orders. During their wait, they begin to study the famous Shakespearian tragedy in their English class, and the legendary play begins to seep into their lives. The problem is, they come from two different cliques in school, and when a brawl breaks out between the two groups, they both want their boy to back them. The big difference? Nobody dies in this one. There's a fake poisoning and all that, but our star-crossed lovers remain alive. With a mash up of YouTube videos, indie rock jams, and the original text of the play, the imaginative film addresses the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that infected the U.S. military for nearly two decades. We won’t ask, but we’re telling you to check out the emotional, underwear-clad love scene between Seth Numrich and Matt Doyle. With the help of their mutual friend Adam (Adam Barrie), taking over the role of Friar Lawrence, the fellas find a place to sneak away and spend some time alone together and spend a little time playing with each other's happy daggers! All we get are the military bros in their boxers, but their pushup honed upper bodies are well worth seeing. Mr. Man's always lusted after Romeo's privates, but this gay love story had him dying for a peek of Juliet's!
