Rooster (2026)

Rooster is a 2026 HBO Original dramedy series from Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence, and starring Steve Carell as Greg Russo—aka the title character. Greg is a best-selling author who is so desperate to reconnect with his estranged daughter Katie (Charly Clive), currently working as a college professor, that he accepts a position to be the writer-in-residence at the same school in hopes of mending their relationship. Naturally, that's going to be a lot easier said than done, though thankfully Greg has at least one person in his court, the school's president Walter Mann (John C. McGinley), who appreciates Greg's ability to cut through the students' bullshit! In the show's debut episode, we get a sexy scene where a shirtless Steve Carell shares a sauna with a similarly shirtless John C. McGinley, who also has a scene in just his boxers! Come on, John, ditch those boxers and let your Rooster fly free!
