Full time law student and part time mechanic Charlie Farrow (Patrick Dempsey) finds trouble when he’s hired by his boss to deliver a Porsche from Boston to Atlantic City in the drama Run (1991). When the car experiences injection problems on the highway, Charlie gets confused for being a high roller headed to Atlantic City to spend all sorts of cash. When a cab driver takes him to the boardwalk, our wannabe lawyer decides to enter a mob-run casino, where he has an incredible run of luck on the poker table, leading to a confrontation with a mob boss’ son named Denny (Alan C. Peterson). Charlie's luck apparently runs out right then and there, because during the scuffle Denny hits his head and dies, leading his crime kingpin father Matt Halloran (Ken Pogue) to put a $50,000 bounty on Charlie’s head. The good cops are after him for murder, the bad ones are after him for the 50K, and every criminal in Atlantic City is after him because they want to get on the head of the mob's good side. All Charlie has on his side is the lone witness to the fight, Karen Landers (Kelly Preston) who knows it was an accident and is willing to help him run away. Why's she willing to do that? Because it's Patrick "McDreamy" Dempsey in his prime, of course. At one point the pair ends up in a motel room together, and she gets to check out Patrick's abs after he takes a shower. Who wouldn't do a little aiding and abetting if it meant a man like that and you doing some bedding! Seriously, that chest will be running through your mind all day!
