Sharlto Copley is as exotic and interesting as his name implies. Talk about your late bloomers, the Johannesburg, South Africa-born hunk made a name for himself for his behind-the-camera work as a television producer in his early twenties and didn't have a single IMDB acting credit until he was well into his thirties. All those years of on screen sexiness lost. Oh, what could have been. Sharlto became friends with a teenage Neil Blomkamp, who directed him in the short film Alive in Joburg (2005) which eventually became the Academy Award nominated sci-fi thriller District 9 (2009). That movie turned dis fine man into a huge star, which led to his portrayal of the crazy chopper pilot H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock in the television show-turned-movie The A-Team (2010). A-ok in our book, the slender and sexy star looked amazing in the sci-fi flicks Europa Report (2013) and Blomkamp's Matt Damon vehicle Elysium (2013), but Sharlto really turned heads when he flashed his butt going for a naked swim as "The Stranger" in the Spike Lee remake, Oldboy (2013). Start sitting on your hands, fellas. Sharlto will give you plenty to hold, boy! You can hollar at your boy showing his athletic chest in The Hollars (2016), or marvel at his whitey tighty scene in the POV action flick Hardcore Henry (2016). Sharlto had a brief TV run on both Netflix's Russian Doll and Youtube's superpower cop drama Powers, where we were powerless to change the channel seeing him shirtless in a bunch of scenes. But by far the most iffy stiffy we've been getting to Sharlton's work was when we watched him portray the Unabomber in Ted K (2022). For those not old enough to remember the FBI manhunt, Ted was a psycho who rejected modernity to live in a log cabin and mail bombs to people, but seeing Sharlto's disheveled, scruffy take on the psycho had us bursting at the pants seams. There's even a scene where we get to watch him take an outdoor shower with a genius bucket setup. It's a shame, or maybe it's a good thing given the subject matter, we only get ass, no package. Hopefully he does something just as sexy but not as controversial in the future. Everytime we see him, Sharlto Copley makes us wanna cop a feel!
