The Playstation series Powers is a police procedural mashed up with some superhero shit. Guess the fact that it’s based on the Brian Michael Bendis comic book of the same name probably explains that plot point. Los Angeles cops Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward) are on the front line of keeping the peace in the City of Angels where normal folks coexist with individuals with superpowers. This incredibly difficult task is made easier by the fact that Detective Walker is a former superhero, previously known as Diamond. Well, Diamond lost his clarity (and powers) during an epic battle with the cannibalistic super villain Wolfe (Eddie Izzard). The world is going to end soon, there’s a power-enhancing drug called ‘sway” making its way through the alleys of the city, and people are dying because of the drug, specifically teenage superhero wannabe Calista (Olesya Rulin).
If all these plot points aren’t enough to get you excited, maybe the fact that the pilot episode featured Sharlto Copley shirtless and Eddie Izzard show his ass and lizard will get you pumped up.
