Shōgun (2024-)

Shōgun (2024) is the second television miniseries adaptation of James Michener's 1975 historical fiction novel of the same name, this time with substantially less cultural appropriation! Acclaimed actor Hiroyuki Sanada stars as Lord Yoshii Toranaga, a powerful daimyo who is beset on all sides by people who want to overthrow his position in 16th century feudal Japan. This is exacerbated by the arrival of John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis), an English sailor who washes up after a shipwreck and commits himself to learning the way of the samurai. And what good would an epic romance be without the woman torn between these two men, Lady Toda Mariko (Anna Sawai), who is seeking to reclaim her disgraced family's legacy! Cosmo Jarvis kicks the series off in style by waking up nude and showing off his sculpted ass before cupping his junk when an older Japanese woman comes to attend to him!
