In between the releases of the dramedy Son of the Bride (2001) and the romantic comedy Mother of the Bride (2024), film fans walked down the cinema aisle to say “I do” to The Bride (2015), also known as La novia. Not to be confused with the horror flicks The Bride (1985) starring Sting or The Bride! (2025) featuring Christian Bale, this drama is based on Federico García Lorca’s Blood Wedding (1933) which looks at the dire consequences a woman faces when she leaves her fiancé on their wedding day. Only identified as “The Bride” (Imma Cuesta) and “The Groom” (Asier Etxeandia), the storied lovers originally meet as children. They also share a strong bond with their friend Leonardo (Álex García). Years later, a grown Leonardo moves on to start a family of his own. But the Groom’s wife-to-be has always harbored feelings for him — and you will too when you see how sexy Señor García is! As the betrothed couple finally gets ready to exchange vows in a small ceremony, Leonardo sweeps the Bride away! Suffice it to say, this does not sit well with the doomed Groom. As such, revenge follows and ends in bloodshed. Speaking of spilling some bodily fluids, you’ll be shooting your load when you get a load of Mr. García at the 01:22:09-minute mark. That’s when the bottomless hottie shows off his pubes, junk and butt during an outdoor duel. Alas, it ends with his tragic demise. In other words, Álex is drop dead gorgeous!
