In 1965, Esquire Magazine sent famed Bonfire of the Vanities and The Right Stuff author Tom Wolfe down South to report on Junior Johnson, a legendary moonshiner turned NASCAR star. Eight years later, the article would be adapted into the Jeff Bridges flick The Last American Hero (1973). Bridges plays the man Wolfe dubbed "The Last American Hero," Elroy "Junior" Jackson Jr. who watches his daddy (Art Lund) get sent to jail for selling moonshine when he's just a kid. Scrambling for cash, Junior starts out trying to win demolition derbies before transitioning to stock car racing. But since stock car racing is expensive and his car needs all sorts of upgrades, Junior decides to sell moonshine like his dad to make some money. Soon enough, the fastest driving he does is off the track, trying to get away from the police. He'll even invent a unique driving maneuver to make sure the cops can't catch him. In real life, Junior will win so many races that he'll become a NASCAR Hall of Famer, get pardoned by Ronald Reagan for his moonshining convictions in the 1980's, and even start his own legal moonshine business in 2007. While the most lasting legacy of the film is probably the Jim Croce song "I Got a Name," which was written as the movie's theme, it's the looks at young Jeff Bridges that really got Mr. Man's engine revving. We're always in the mood to check out a dude racing for the checkered flag, especially when they've got buns like Jeff! Putting the ass in NASCAR, Jeff is hanging out in a towel when a young lady visits his motel room, and he takes it off. Race car drivers might not be the fittest athletes, but young Jeff's butt is pretty toned! That young lady is about to get boned! Another scene that'll have you playing with your stick shift is when Jeff's in bed with another woman, and we get a glimpse of his buns peeking out of some sheets. Maybe he'll give us a lapdance after he does a few laps! Jeff Bridges' body has been racing through our minds ever since we first watched The Last American Hero!
