It's a megalodon! Steve Alten's 1997 novel Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror kicks off with a Megaladon easily dispatching with a T-Rex: no doubt a shot at the hugely popular film Jurassic Park (1993). Twenty-one years later, it would be Alten's novel that set the international box office on fire when Jason Statham starred in The Meg (2018). Statham plays deep sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor, a man living in shame because he failed to rescue the survivors of a sunken nuclear submarine. He claimed he had to stop because some enormous creature was ramming the sub, but everyone thinks he's either a lying coward or a crazy man. Eccentric billionaire Jack Morris (Rainn Wilson) is investigating a deeper, hidden part of the Mariana Trench when his crew gets attacked by a giant squid. They end up trapped, so the rich dude's friends track down Jonas, and he sets up a rescue mission. Of course, he'll find that they're under assault from a Megaladon, then he'll accidentally break the seal keeping it in the deep and unleash the seventy-foot shark on an unsuspecting public. Now he has to confront the shark - called The Meg - and save other people from its danger. We know that Jason Statham has this under control because his muscles could save the world. Look at those biceps! This hulking hunk of a man looks terrific with just a towel tied around his waist to show off his cum gutters and pecs. Our JAWS (1975) were on the floor checking out those abs! We just wish we got to see his megadong in The Meg!
